Shopping mall owners, managers and tenants have launched an association to advocate for their interests and concerns to grow the retail sector.
The Shopping Centers Association of Kenya,launched last week, was set up for networking, education, research and constructive engagement amongst all stakeholders in the shopping centre industry, including owners, tenants and service providers.
“It took over three years to have the association registered due to lengthy registration processes and it became apparent that getting it off the ground will need full time commitment,” said Sonia Raja, the director of Vici Consulting which will be managing the association.
The association has 12 founding members who include Broll, Buffalo Mall Developments, Capital Centre, Fedha Management, Galleria Shopping Mall, Garden City Mall, Knight Frank, Sarit Centre, The Hub Karen, Two Rivers, The Village Market and Yaya Centre.
